Permanent Make Up

Your eyes and eyebrows - the windows to your soul - are the most prominent and most noticeable features on your face. Imagine "waking up with make up" or not having to worry about accidentally smearing off your brows mid day, sweating your eyebrows off at the gym or filling in your brows while on vacation! It truly can be life changing.
Microblading is a very popular and more natural form of tattoo that creates a 3 dimensional look blending your natural hairs with microbladed hair strokes. The powder brow, or ombre brow is done by machine and is ideal for creating more density and for those who desire a more dramatic look.

Permanent Make Up

***A Non-refundable deposit is required to secure any permanent make up procedure. Cost of procedure does not include touch up. Touch ups must be done within a 8-12 week period. Contact Melissa today to consult and to set an appointment. You may also book online. Can not be pregnant, nursing, or currently receiving chemotherapy, or have received chemotherapy in the last 6 months.

PREP INSTRUCTIONS:
-No aspirin or blood thinners 72 hours before

-Do not consume alcohol 72 hours before

-No caffeine or stimulants before your appointment, as they have adverse effects on the numbing process, increase pain sensitivity and cause you to bleed more.

-If you have taken any antibiotics you must wait a full two weeks after you stop taking the antibiotics before having your brows done, and you will need to reschedule. NO EXCEPTIONS.

-No botox/fillers 2 weeks before

-No anti-aging skincare containing retin-A, retinols, alpha-hydroxy, or vitamin A derivatives 1 month before.

-No chemical peels or microdermabrasion 1 month before or 1 month after.

-No tanning beds 1 month before or 1 month after. Tanned skin does not tattoo or heal well. The color turns gray/ashy and fades much faster. This goes for sunburned/tanned skin from the natural sun as well.

-If you get your eyebrows waxed, it must be done no less than 4 days before your service.

-Sweat is horrible for PMU during the healing process so you will not be able to exercise and excessively sweat for 10 days after for the best retention and healed results.

-If you have an active acne breakout on your eyebrows you will have to reschedule until it clears up.

-FOR PERMANENT EYEBROWS-If you wear makeup, please feel free to come with your makeup on. We will be taking before and after photos, so having your face on will help you feel your best! I will remove any makeup on the treatment area before we start.

AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS

It is very important that you do not sweat or expose your brows to sun for the first 10 days. This is very crucial to achieving good healed results and retaining the pigment. So this means, no working out/exercise. After the 10 days you can return to your activities.

Please understand that if the aftercare instructions are not followed properly and you sweat off your new brows, then we will have to start the process over. Instead of coming in for a “perfecting touch up visit” 8-12 weeks later- you will be charged for a first session again, since I will have to re-map and design the brows all over again,

Sun exposure can cause the pigment to turn an ashy/ gray color.

I can make your brows look beautiful, but it’s up to you to take good care of them once you get home.

You spend a lot of money on your service, make sure you take care of your investment!

HOW TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR BEAUTIFUL NEW BROWS…

You will blot your brows with sterile gauze and distilled water every 2 hours for the first day to remove lymph build up (lymph that has dried and hardened can cause scabbing)

Day 2-10 You will wash your brows twice a day, pat dry with a paper towel, and apply a healing ointment.

You will avoid getting your brows wet in the direct spray of the shower.

I will explain in more detail the aftercare instructions at your appointment. It is actually super easy!

Please do not book a COSMETIC TATTOO service appointment if-

-You are pregnant or breastfeeding (you must wait a full 6 weeks after giving birth or a full 6 weeks after you stop breastfeeding) It can effect the healed results due to the hormone imbalance in your body, causing the ink to turn undesired colors. Besides, creating wounds and triggering an immune response, while introducing anesthetic into the bloodstream is NEVER a good idea for Moms and babies!!

-You are actively undergoing chemotherapy treatments

-You have a pacemaker or heart condition

-You are allergic to lidocaine

-You are prone to keloid scars

-You have taken Accutane in the last year

-You have used any retin-A, retinol, alpha-hydroxy, rosacea medication, vitamin A derivatives, or any skin medication in the last month.

-You have eczema/dermatitis on your face

-You have previous permanent makeup on your eyebrows and you have not submitted a clear photo for them to be examined by Melissa.

-You are under 18 years of age

-You have any viral infections or diseases

-If you are diabetic, but it is under control- you are still a candidate, but please be aware that your healing process will be much longer than normal. For this reason, you will need to bring a doctors note with permission.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the microblading procedure last?

This varies from person to person and a Touch up within 4-8 weeks to perfect. Results on average last from 12-18 months after your initial microblading session.

How long does it take to do?

Investing an hour or two of your time can make you beautiful for years to come. The procedure is split into 2 appointments, which are 4-8 weeks apart to allow for the healing process to complete. The initial procedure will take from 90 to 120 minutes, and your second appointment takes from 30-60 .

Does microblading hurt?

Every precaution necessary is taken to ensure the micro-pigmentation application is as pain free as possible. A wide range of medical grade anaesthetics are used for your comfort. Some clients find the procedure a little uncomfortable, whereas other clients report no discomfort at all. A combination of 2 anaesthetics are used, first a topical numbing cream and then a local anaesthetic is introduced once the microblading procedure has started. This is topped up regularly during the treatment to keep you comfortable.

How long is the recovery or healing time?

Many clients can walk right out the door, ready to show off their new brows. Initially stronger in color, your new brows will soften to a natural looking and beautiful color in two to three weeks. Working out or sweating shouldn't be done for about 10-14 day because it effects the healing process.

How do you choose the shape?

We choose a shape and style together. At the beginning of the microblading procedure, Melissa will draw in a suggested shape for your new brows and then we will work together to perfect this to your preference and measurements are taken to check symmetry and position.

How do you choose a color?

We choose a color together by applying small amounts of different coloured pigments to the skin near to your brows and selecting the best match for your skin tone, features and personal preference.

What will they look like immediately after the procedure?

Your brows may be a little swollen, red and sometimes a bit white. This is all very normal. They will be considerably darker for the first week, before they begin to fade out to a softer color.

Will they fade?

Your body's skin changes over time and so will any permanent makeup coloration implanted in to the skins layers. However, this natural fading process takes years and touch ups are easily done as your color fade over time.

Can I have my brows microbladed if I'm pregnant?

No you cannot have this treatment done, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Does it hurt afterwards?

The area can be a little sore for the first few hours and then tender to the touch for a couple of days.

Will my Microbladed Eyebrows look fake?

NO! Microblading is done using a cosmetic tattooing process and our eyebrow pigmentation unique artistry resulting in soft, natural looking eyebrows. When we implant pigment in the skin, it appears more natural looking than even topically applied cosmetics.

What if I don't like it?

Although the procedure is considered semi-permanent, these procedures do have flexibility in changing color and shape to some extent. Colors will appear much darker immediately following the procedure but will often soften and lighten during the healing process. The healing time is different for each individual and remember it takes time to adjust to a new look!

Are there any side effects during or after the procedure?

During the procedure there may be some minor bleeding. This will depend on the client. If a person is taking blood thinners on a daily basis, then some slight bleeding may occur. Bruising is rare but if a person is on blood thinners, then bruising could occur. There is usually some tenderness for a few days. The color appears much darker than you may expect for the first six to ten days.
